Dziwnów hosts 17th Commando Festival with elite special forces

The 17th Commando Festival took place in Dziwnów, bringing together current and former special forces members, tourists, and guests. The event featured demonstrations of equipment and skills from various elite units, including GROM, Agat, Formoza, and the JW Komandosów.

Participants also met with veterans from the 1st Assault Battalion, the first secret commando unit in post-war Poland, which operated in Dziwnów from 1964 to 1986. A formal roll call was held on Saturday morning at the obelisk commemorating Polish paratroopers and special forces soldiers, attended by Deputy Minister of National Defense Stanisław Wziątek.
