Łódzka Kolej Aglomeracyjna debuts new PESA Elf 3.0 trains with free rides in Łódź

On 22 July, Łódzka Kolej Aglomeracyjna (ŁKA) held a public launch of fourteen new PESA Elf 3.0 trains at Łódź Fabryczna station. Four units arrived on platform 2 at 13:00, allowing visitors to tour the interiors, see the driver’s cabin and enjoy promotional activities such as music, themed ice‑cream and souvenir gadgets.

The modern 60‑metre trains, built by PESA in Bydgoszcz, seat up to 350 passengers and feature air‑conditioning, free Wi‑Fi and onboard power outlets. The project cost over 455 million zł, with 300 million zł funded from the National Recovery Plan and Polish Ład. After delivery, ŁKA’s fleet grew to 53 vehicles.

On the same day, two inaugural services ran free of charge: the first departed at 14:06 for Skierniewice via Bedoń, Koluszki, Rogów and Maków, and the second left at 14:23 for Koluszki via Łódź Widzew and Bedoń. Passengers received commemorative tickets and the rides were supplemented with station‑side attractions.
