Łódzka Kolej Aglomeracyjna launches 14 new PESA ELF 3.0 trains in Łódź

On 22 July 2024 the Łódzka Kolej Aglomeracyjna (ŁKA) held a public presentation at Łódź Fabryczna station to unveil fourteen new PESA ELF 3.0 trainsets. The 60‑metre, 350‑seat units were built by PESA in Bydgoszcz and cost over 455 million zł, largely financed by national recovery programmes. Each train offers climate control, free Wi‑Fi and power sockets. After the official ceremony at 13:00, the first promotional runs began at 14:06 to Skierniewice (stopping at Bedoń, Koluszki, Rogów and Maków) and a second service at 14:23 to Koluszki via Łódź Widzew and Bedoń. All rides were free for passengers, who also received souvenir tickets and could explore the interiors, including the driver’s cabin. The new rolling stock raises ŁKA’s fleet to 53 vehicles, promising more frequent regional connections for the Łódź province.
