Dzūkija National Park hosts concert for 35th anniversary
To celebrate the 35th anniversary of Lithuania's national parks, the State Service for Protected Areas is organizing a series of free concerts across all five national parks throughout August and September.
On August 27, the New Ideas Chamber Orchestra (NIKO), led by Gediminas Gelgotas, will perform fragments of ‘Recompositions’ at the Kastinio campsite near Lake Kastinis in Dzūkija National Park. The performance is intended to allow attendees to experience music within the natural landscape of forests and water.
Dzūkija National Park, the largest protected area in Lithuania, is noted for the deep connection between its landscape and local traditions. Agnė Jasinavičiūtė-Trakimienė, director of the State Service for Protected Areas, stated the concert aims to provide an opportunity to feel the unique character and silence of the Dzūkija region.
