DZVM criticizes SVM over political involvement and electoral alliances

The Democratic Community of Vojvodina Hungarians (DZVM) has issued criticisms regarding the political activities of the Alliance of Vojvodina Hungarians (SVM) and the President of the Assembly of AP Vojvodina, Balint Juhas.

In one instance, DZVM accused SVM leader Balint Pastor and Balint Juhas of ‘bringing politics into school’ during a reception for first-grade students in Bačka Biroš. The party questioned whether the presence of political figures at a school event was appropriate or merely a form of political promotion, and raised concerns regarding whether parental consent was obtained for photographing children for social media.

Separately, DZVM stated that the interests of Vojvodina Hungarians do not align with continued cooperation with nationalist groups. The party criticized Balint Pastor’s announcement of SVM’s independent electoral run and its potential continued cooperation with the Serbian Progressive Party, which may run on a list alongside the Serbian Radical Party. DZVM argued that such a coalition does not serve the interests of the Hungarian minority.
