e-Albania to expand authentication codes to WhatsApp and Viber

Starting October 1, authentication and electronic signature codes for the e-Albania portal will be available via WhatsApp and Viber. This expansion aims to provide citizens and businesses with additional communication channels for accessing public services and verifying identities.

The National Agency of Information Society (AKSHI) has issued security guidelines regarding this update. Official messages sent through these platforms will contain only the necessary code and will not request personal data, sensitive information, or require users to click on external links.

Users are advised to remain vigilant against fraudulent messages. AKSHI emphasizes that the authentication code is personal and should never be shared with others. Any message requesting additional information or the sharing of the code should be treated as a scam.
