E-bike trends highlight demand for transport solutions and technical features
The popularity of cycling and e-bikes continues to grow, with data from the Federal Statistical Office indicating that 22 percent of households in Germany own at least one pedelec as of 2024.
To accommodate the transport of these increasingly heavy vehicles, hitch-mounted bicycle carriers have become a preferred solution. These models offer stability and ease of use, allowing for the transport of multiple bikes, including heavy e-bikes, without requiring them to be stored inside the vehicle.
Additionally, many e-bikes feature a widely available but often overlooked function: the walk assistance or starting aid. By holding down the plus button on the handlebar, riders can activate a motor-assisted mode that moves the bike at speeds up to 6 km/h without pedaling. This feature is particularly useful for maneuvering heavy bikes up inclines or while pushing them.
