E-commerce growth trends reported in Venezuela and Colombia

E-commerce trends in Venezuela and Colombia show significant shifts in consumer behavior. In Venezuela, the Venezuelan Chamber of Electronic Commerce (Cavecom-e) estimates that ‘buy now, pay later’ (BNPL) services could grow by 80% to 90% by the end of the year. Richard Ujueta, president of the chamber, noted a 40% increase in the service during the first half of 2026, driven by greater penetration in micro-services for basic purchases. This provides a financing alternative for consumers without access to traditional credit cards.

In Colombia, the Colombian Chamber of Electronic Commerce (CCCE) reported a record 223.87 million e-commerce transactions during the second quarter of 2026. This represents a 31.1% increase compared to the same period in 2025. However, while transaction volume has risen, the average ticket size decreased by 8.1% to $186,755. Executive President María Fernanda Quiñones indicated that these results reflect a change in how consumers utilize digital channels.
