E-commerce players expand logistics and digital services in Latin America
Mercado Libre has announced an ambitious investment plan to triple its logistics capacity in Chile by 2027. The e-commerce giant aims to expand its storage and distribution infrastructure from 140,000 square meters to 450,000 square meters. This expansion includes building a third distribution center in the Metropolitan Region and increasing regional capacity by 174% to improve delivery times outside the capital. The initiative is expected to create more than 2,500 direct jobs. Key operational hubs will be concentrated in the Colina area, with additional urban distribution centers planned to bolster rapid delivery networks.
In a separate regional development, Infracommerce and Tiendanube have formed a strategic alliance to accelerate e-commerce evolution in Latin America. The partnership integrates Infracommerce’s fullcommerce services with Tiendanube’s SaaS platform to support medium and large enterprises. The collaboration will begin in Argentina and expand to Brazil, Mexico, Chile, and Colombia, offering brands integrated technology and specialized logistics operations.
