Greece: e-EFKA and DYPA to distribute 1.2 billion euros in benefits

Between September 28 and October 2, e-EFKA and the Public Employment Service (DYPA) will distribute over 1.2 billion euros to approximately 1.74 million beneficiaries in Greece. The largest portion of these funds, totaling approximately 1.12 billion euros, is designated for October pension payments to 1.64 million recipients on September 29.

Other scheduled payments include pension advances, TAYTEKO extra-institutional allowances, and lump-sum decisions. DYPA will also distribute 65 million euros covering unemployment benefits, maternity leave, and various employment programs.

Separately, a new policy regarding disability allowances from OPΕΚΑ and e-EFKA is set to take effect on January 1, 2027. This regulation will introduce an annual adjustment mechanism for approximately 218,000 citizens, with increases based on inflation and GDP growth. The average benefit increase per recipient is estimated at approximately 220 euros for 2027.
