e-EFKA announces 2026 maternity allowance payment schedule

The e-EFKA has scheduled a series of maternity allowance payments for late 2026. The first installment of the new cycle is set for Monday, September 21, 2026, covering beneficiaries who submitted approved electronic applications between September 1 and September 15, 2026.

Subsequent payments are scheduled for October 6, 2026, for applications submitted from September 16 to September 30, and October 21, 2026, for those submitted between October 1 and October 15. This bi-monthly schedule is designed to reduce waiting times for recipients.

The maternity benefit covers a total of 119 days, consisting of 56 days before childbirth and 63 days after. The amount of the benefit is linked to the minimum wage, which increased to 920 euros on April 1, 2026, up from 880 euros in 2025. Future adjustments to the minimum wage, such as the target of 950 euros by April 2027, will impact these benefit calculations.
