E-ink technology faces adoption challenges despite new product launches

The E-ink display market continues to see specialized developments, though widespread consumer adoption remains limited by technical constraints. Users highlight that while E-ink screens are highly beneficial for eye comfort and visibility under direct sunlight, they struggle with slow response times, low refresh rates, and color fidelity compared to OLED displays. These limitations often restrict E-ink devices to reading or static information displays rather than general-purpose computing.

In the consumer market, iReader has launched the Ocean 6 Pro, a 7-inch E-reader priced at 1,799 yuan. The device features Carta 1300 screen technology with 300 PPI, a 6nm 8-core CPU, and 4GB of RAM. It includes a specialized soft light screen with adjustable brightness and color temperature, aiming to improve performance with a 50 fps ultra-refresh technology and a battery life capable of 91 hours of reading.
