E. Jean Carroll discusses legal victory over Donald Trump

American journalist and writer E. Jean Carroll, 82, has discussed the conclusion of her seven-year legal battle against Donald Trump. While promoting her book, ‘Not My Type’, in Paris, Carroll noted that the legal victory regarding his sexual assault of her in 1996 ‘drove him crazy.’

Carroll is the only person to successfully sue Trump for sexual assault. Following the U.S. Supreme Court's rejection of Trump's final appeal, she is set to receive $5.6 million in damages. Although a previous injunction attempt by Trump's legal team was recently rendered moot by a new agreement, Carroll stated she does not intend to use the funds for personal luxury. Instead, she plans to donate the money to causes Trump opposes, including women's rights, minority rights, and climate change initiatives.

In a separate legal matter, an appeals court upheld an $83.3 million defamation judgment against Trump, a case that remains subject to potential Supreme Court review.
