E3 Electric.ai Secures Rs100 Crore Series A to Launch AI‑Powered Scooter in India
Bengaluru‑based startup E3 Electric.ai has completed a Rs100 crore (≈ $10.4 million) Series A funding round led by BluVenture Holdings, with about 75 % equity and the remainder debt. Founder and CEO P. Sanjeev, a former head of TVS Motor's EV division, said the capital will fund product development and expansion as the company prepares to commercially launch its first AI‑driven electric scooter, the E3 TRION.
The E3 TRION will debut in Bengaluru before rolling out to roughly 90 Indian cities, including Delhi, later in the fiscal year. The scooter integrates AI for a 10‑second health check, predictive maintenance, battery‑health monitoring, smart routing, roadside assistance and an SOS fall‑detection feature that alerts contacts via a mobile app. E3 uses an asset‑light model and a modular chassis platform that allows future upgrades to battery, motor and controller components, and it has filed more than 18 patents covering these technologies.
E3 Electric.ai enters a crowded Indian two‑wheeler EV market, competing with firms such as Ola Electric, Ather Energy, TVS Motor and Bajaj Auto. Industry data show electric scooter registrations reached about 1.81 lakh in June, and the sector is projected to become a $132 billion opportunity by 2030.
