EA Sports Fight Night revival sparks speculation on boxing legends

Following Electronic Arts' confirmation of the Fight Night franchise revival, speculation is growing regarding the potential inclusion of boxing legends. Industry observers suggest that EA Sports may pursue a ‘Legends Edition’ or a multi-fighter cover featuring icons such as Mike Tyson, Manny Pacquiao, and Floyd Mayweather Jr. to recapture the success of previous titles.

Licensing remains a significant factor in roster development. While stars like Ryan Garcia, Devin Haney, and Shakur Stevenson are viewed as viable modern candidates, existing exclusive agreements with rival titles may complicate the acquisition of certain athletes.

Separately, reports indicate that Netflix is interested in a professional two-fight deal involving Floyd Mayweather. The proposed matches, which would be professional bouts rather than exhibitions, include a rematch against Manny Pacquiao potentially in 2027 and a bout against Ryan Garcia in 2027 or 2028.
