Activision adds Doom Slayer to Call of Duty: Black Ops 7

Activision is adding the Doom Slayer as a playable operator to Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 as part of ‘The Haunting’ Halloween update. Scheduled for release on September 17, the update includes a premium event pass launching September 24, offering the Doom Slayer operator skin inspired by Doom: The Dark Ages, alongside a Doomguy skin and signature weaponry such as the BFG and crucible blade. A free tier will also provide Doom-themed items like UAC scientist skins and weapon charms.

This update serves as a final content season for Black Ops 7 before the release of Modern Warfare 4 in October. The update will also feature a nighttime version of the Avalon map, new maps, and limited-time multiplayer modes. This follows a period of mixed community reception for Black Ops 7, which faced competition from titles like Battlefield 6.

In separate news, LEGO has announced the LEGO Icons Bookstore: Book Nook, a 1,690-piece set releasing October 1. Priced at $149.99, it is the company’s largest book nook to date and is notable for being the first in the line not tied to an existing intellectual property.
