Eagle Cap and Sumpter Valley railroads announce fall excursion schedules

The Eagle Cap Excursion Train and the Sumpter Valley Railroad have announced their autumn excursion schedules for the upcoming season.

Based in Elgin, the Eagle Cap Excursion Train will resume operations in September and October following an August hiatus due to fire danger. Scheduled trips include the Two Rivers route, which travels 38 miles along the Grande Ronde and Wallowa rivers, and the 52-mile Minam Bonus ride. Fall foliage-specific trips are set for October, concluding with a Halloween-themed excursion on October 31.

The Sumpter Valley Railroad, based in McEwen, offers a variety of themed rides including staged train robberies in late August and September, Labor Day weekend long runs, and fall foliage trains in mid-October. The railroad's seasonal programming also includes Halloween and Christmas-themed excursions.
