Eagle film documents Moroccan cyclist Marwan Kharbouchi
The documentary film ‘Eagle’ explores the life and career of Moroccan cyclist Marwan Kharbouchi. Directed by Marwan Benskir, the film is noted as a first of its kind in Morocco, Africa, and potentially the Arab world to focus specifically on the sport of cycling.
The film tracks Kharbouchi’s journey from the recent World Championship in Rwanda toward the upcoming World Championship scheduled for late September in Montreal, Canada. Through drone footage and close-up shots, Benskir captures the athlete’s rigorous training sessions, strict dietary habits, and the challenges faced in locations such as the Oukaïmeden mountains and the outskirts of Marrakech.
In addition to documenting Kharbouchi’s personal ambitions to join major international teams, the film follows his performance at the Moroccan Championship in Sidi Allal El Bahraoui, where he secured second place in the time trial against senior riders and fourth place in the under-23 road race. The documentary runs approximately one hour and fifteen minutes.
