Eagles weigh trading A.J. Brown to Rams as Patriots show interest

NFL trade reports indicate the Los Angeles Rams were closer than the New England Patriots to acquiring Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown early in the 2026 offseason. Sources said negotiations nearly materialized before stalling, and the Eagles would incur a dead‑cap charge of $43.4 million if the deal closed before June 1, dropping to $16.4 million after that date. Brown finished the 2025 season with 78 receptions for 1,003 yards and seven touchdowns.

The Patriots’ trade activity could extend to wide receiver Kayson Boutte, who may be moved if the A.J. Brown deal goes through. The New York Giants and Chicago Bears have been mentioned as potential suitors for Boutte.
