Earl International Group denies involvement in alleged mining shooting

Earl International Group (GH) Gold Limited has denied reports linking its employees or security personnel to an alleged shooting of an illegal miner at its underground mining site in Talensi, Upper East Region.

The company issued a statement describing reports of the incident as false and misleading. According to Earl Group, preliminary internal investigations suggest that dozens of reportedly armed illegal miners invaded the underground mining area on the night of October 29, 2026. The company alleged that these intruders attacked personnel and destroyed critical infrastructure, including electrical cables, tricycles, ventilation fans, and CCTV cameras.

Earl Group maintained that its security provider, Reliable Protection Services (RPS), exercised restraint and that no firearms were discharged by its personnel. The company stated it is cooperating fully with the Ghana Police Service to facilitate a thorough investigation into the matter.
