Early 2027 NCAA Division I men's lacrosse rankings released

USA Lacrosse Magazine published an early preview of the 2027 Division I men's lacrosse top‑25, covering positions 25 through 21. The preview assesses teams that could contend for NCAA tournament berths next spring.

Lehigh Mountain Hawks entered the preview with a 2026 record of 8‑8 (4‑4 Patriot). The program projects the loss of 62 of 160 starters and the departure of 71 of 315 points. Returning leaders include first‑team all‑Patriot selection Luke Breslin (34 goals, 34 assists) and Patriot Rookie of the Year Finn Morgan (47 goals, 17 assists). The preview notes the graduation of turnover‑record holder Richard Checo and starter Luke McAuliffe, raising questions about the team’s defense.

Stony Brook Seawolves, coming off a 2026 record of 10‑6 (4‑2 Coastal), project the loss of 34 of 160 starters and 44 of 316 points. Returning scorers are seniors Collin Williamson (40 goals, 17 assists) and Justin Bonacci (29 goals, 16 assists) and junior Kian McCoy (20 goals, 24 assists). Defenders Ryan Dodge, Will Birney and Kyan East also remain. The team will need a replacement for goalie Tommy Wilk, who posted a 54.3 % save percentage.
