Early childhood education and nutrition initiatives in Hungary and Serbia

In Hungary, discussions regarding school catering emphasize the importance of healthy nutrition for students' physical development and academic performance. While regulations govern salt, sugar, and food group usage, challenges remain in making healthy options like vegetables and whole grains appealing to students. Experts suggest that improving student satisfaction through menu variety, regular feedback, and the use of local, seasonal ingredients can help establish lifelong healthy eating habits.

In Serbia, the North Bačka Educators Association organized a professional conference on October 12 for kindergarten teachers to promote early childhood education and professional cooperation. Dr. Judit Kereki, State Secretary for Early Childhood Wellbeing at the Hungarian Ministry of Education and Children, attended as a guest speaker. The conference focused on child-centered pedagogical approaches and inclusive education, emphasizing the need to create environments where all children, regardless of their abilities, can participate equally in community life.
