Early literacy programs aim to reduce developmental gaps
Early childhood reading is a critical factor in strengthening language, brain development, and future learning. In Latin America and the Caribbean, access to books and shared reading experiences remains unequal across different socioeconomic contexts.
In Chile, the “Leer con Alma” program is being implemented at the Graneritos de Casablanca kindergarten. This initiative, a collaboration between Fundación Integra and Fundación Alma, consists of six workshops designed to provide families with tools to support oral and written language development, as well as socio-emotional skills in children. The program aims to create a learning community by promoting the exchange of knowledge and support networks among participating families and educational teams.
