North Carolina begins early voting for November midterm elections

Early voting for the November 3 midterm elections has commenced across North Carolina, running from October 15 through October 31. Voters can utilize same-day registration at early voting sites, provided they present acceptable proof of residence such as a driver’s license or utility bill.

Statewide, there are hundreds of early voting locations. In Wake County alone, 18 sites are available, and officials emphasize that voters can cast ballots at any location within their respective counties. Voters are required to present an approved photo ID, though provisional ballots are available for those with valid exceptions.

Civic and civil rights organizations are actively mobilizing voters. The NAACP and the Congressional Black Caucus Institute have launched campaigns to encourage turnout, particularly among Black voters and young people. Local leaders, including the League of Women Voters, are urging citizens to vote on the full ballot, noting that local races and constitutional amendments often have the most direct impact on daily life.
