Earth Partner Prize recognizes climate change art

Máté Ladjánszki has been awarded second place in the 2024 Earth Partner Prize for his series ‘Everything is Fine!’. The work uses satire and humor to address climate change, aiming to provoke a reaction from those who remain indifferent to the ecological crisis. Ladjánszki noted that traditional imagery of melting ice caps often leads to immunity through overexposure, so his work focuses on the human tendency to ignore the problem.

Separately, historical research involving physicist Heinz von Foerster has been discussed regarding population growth projections. While studies conducted in the 1960s once suggested a specific date for the end of habitability based on birth rates, these calculations diverged from reality by 1993 as the pace of population growth began to slow.
