Earth, Wind & Fire cancelled their scheduled Aug. 6 show with Lionel Richie at San Francisco’s Chase Center minutes before the 7:30 p.m. start. The band posted on Instagram that a “medical emergency involving a member of our band” prevented the performance and that the concert would be rescheduled, with tickets honored or refunded. San Francisco fire officials confirmed a cardiac incident response; one individual was taken to a hospital in critical condition. Media reports identified the affected member as drummer John Paris, who was hospitalized. The postponement follows earlier health‑related disruptions on Richie’s Sing A Song All Night Long tour.

Fans were asked to retain their tickets for the future date, and the venue and the band apologized for the inconvenience.
