Earthquake‑stricken children in La Guaira to watch World Cup 2026 final

Around 200 children displaced by the recent earthquakes in La Guaira, Venezuela, will be invited to watch the 2026 World Cup final in the Plaza de Tanaguarena on July 19, coinciding with Children's Day. The event is organized by the Fundación Hawaiira together with the local road‑restoration brigade and Blue Helmets, and will feature televisions, internet via Starlink, a welcome snack, and gifts such as food, toys and plush animals.

Organizers also plan to conduct a census during the gathering to improve the distribution of aid to the affected families. Several national brands, including Empresas Polar, have pledged support. The initiative aims to give the vulnerable children a day of distraction and joy amidst the ongoing recovery efforts.
