East 17 to release remastered ‘Best Of’ album

London Records has announced the release of a new ‘Best Of’ album by the British boy band East 17, scheduled for December 4. The collection features the group’s major hits fully remastered for the first time to mark their upcoming 35th anniversary.

Formed in Walthamstow in 1991 by songwriter Tony Mortimer, the group included members Brian Harvey, Terry Coldwell, and John Hendy. East 17 was noted for a distinct image and sound that incorporated hip-hop, R&B, and dance music, contrasting with the more traditional pop ballads of their contemporaries.

Key tracks included in their discography are ‘House Of Love’, ‘It’s Alright’, and ‘Steam’. Their 1994 single ‘Stay Another Day’ became a significant commercial success, spending five weeks at number one in the UK and remaining a recurring seasonal hit.
