East Asia Super League announces 2026-27 season groups

The East Asia Super League (EASL) has finalized its group compositions for the 2026-27 season. Twelve clubs representing seven basketball markets—including South Korea, Japan, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, Macau, the Philippines, and Mongolia—will compete across three groups.

Group A features Alvark Tokyo, Goyang Sono Skygunners, TSG Ghost Hawks, and Zha (Has) Broncos. Group B includes Busan KCC Aegis, Macau Hou Chung, Taipei Fubon Braves, and Nagasaki Velca. Group C consists of Abra Weavers, Hong Kong Eastern, Ryukyu Golden Kings, and Taoyuan Pauian Pilots.

The season is scheduled to commence on October 3 at the SM Seaside Cebu Arena in the Philippines with a double-header. The opening matches will feature Macau Hou Chung against Taipei Fubon Braves, followed by Abra Weavers against Hong Kong Eastern. Notably, the Abra Weavers become the first club from the Philippines' MPBL to compete in the EASL.
