East Bay restaurants announce closures in Oakland, Emeryville, and Alameda

Several long-standing restaurants in the East Bay area are closing their doors. Home of Chicken and Waffles, a Jack London neighborhood staple since 2004, will close at the end of August.

In Emeryville, the vegan Mexican business Alma y Sazón will cease operations after August 30. Additionally, Chong Qing Noodles in Alameda has shuttered, with Bull Tacos expected to take over the location. In Oakland, The Coffee Mill, a brunch spot near Lake Merritt that had been family-owned for over 35 years, appears to have closed permanently following the appearance of ‘For Lease’ signs in its windows.
