East Bengal draws 2-2 against Al Hussein in AFC Champions League Two opener

East Bengal FC, the sole Indian representative in the AFC Champions League Two 2026/27, secured a 2-2 draw against Jordanian side Al Hussein SC in their Group D opening match. After leading 2-0 at halftime through goals from Daniel Ramirez and Anwar Ali, the Indian club conceded two second-half goals to the Jordanian champions, who leveled the score in the 61st minute.

The result marks the first point earned by an Indian club in the rebranded AFC Champions League Two competition. East Bengal is scheduled to host Iraq’s Al Shorta SC for their second matchday on October 13 at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan.

The tournament's group stage features 32 teams divided into East and West regions. In the West Region, Al Wahda secured a victory in Group A, while FK Arkadag took a winning start in Group B after defeating Al-Muharraq SC 1-0.
