East Bengal FC defeats Rajshahi Stars 4-0 in AFC Women’s Champions League opener
East Bengal FC secured a 4-0 victory against Bangladesh’s Rajshahi Stars FC in their opening match of the AFC Women’s Champions League 2026-27 preliminary stage. The match took place at the Likas Stadium in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia, on August 17, 2026.
Ghanaian forward Olivia Anokye scored two goals, including an early penalty in the ninth minute. Other goals were contributed by Indian internationals Astam Oraon and Soumya Guguloth. East Bengal, the reigning champions of the Indian Women’s League, maintained control throughout the match, capitalizing on defensive errors to seal the win.
Following this performance, East Bengal is scheduled to face Guam’s Rovers FC and the host team, Sabah FA, as they compete for a spot in the tournament's group stage.
