East Bohemian Museum launches new Museum Academy program
The East Bohemian Museum in Pardubice has announced the return of its Museum Academy, an educational program running from September through June. The initiative features nearly twenty sessions, including lectures, guided tours, workshops, and walks designed to provide a unique perspective on various subjects.
Topics covered in the program include the history of the Pardubice estate, archaeology, architecture, and the works of symbolist František Bilk. Participants will also explore natural sciences, specifically focusing on beetles and nature conservation in the Pardubice region. Special sessions will offer a look behind the scenes at the Pardubice Castle, detailing the technical and operational maintenance required for historical sites and exhibition preparation.
Specific upcoming events include an educational walk through the historic center of Pardubice using games and storytelling inspired by the Pernštejn family, as well as a lecture by historian Petr Čornej on the methodology of writing biographical monographs. The program is scheduled to continue through 2027, with future topics ranging from medieval monasteries to the history of Roman armies.
