East Champaran acid attack injures six people
Six people, including five members of a single family, were injured in an acid attack in the Kesaria police station area of East Champaran district, Bihar. The incident occurred during a dispute over a monetary transaction between two parties.
According to police reports, the altercation took place at the residence of Amit Kumar, also known as Bittu. During a heated argument with Praveen Prakash Singh, an acid-like substance used for cleaning silver was utilized, resulting in burns to several individuals. The injured include Amit Kumar, three of his children—Yash Kumar, Saksham Kumar, and Aarush Kumar—a female family member, and Praveen Prakash Singh.
Following the incident, the Motihari Superintendent of Police ordered the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the matter. Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) teams and local officials have inspected the scene to collect evidence. A case has been registered naming four individuals as accused: Gunjan Singh (alias Praveen Prakash), Prabhat Prakash, Sudhanshu Ranjan (alias Ranjan Singh), and Shravan Kumar.
