East Jakarta Court postpones Dokter Tifa indictment hearing

The East Jakarta District Court has postponed the indictment reading for Tifauzia Tyassuma, also known as Dokter Tifa, for two weeks. The case involves allegations of defamation regarding the diploma of Indonesia's 7th President, Joko Widodo.

During the hearing on August 13, 2026, the defendant was absent and was represented only by her legal team. While prosecutors stated they had properly summoned the defendant and provided copies of the indictment on July 30, 2026, the presiding judge, Christina Endarwati, noted that the defendant's presence is required as legal counsel acts as an assistant rather than a substitute in criminal proceedings.

The court has ordered prosecutors to re-summon Dokter Tifa for the next hearing, which is scheduled for August 27, 2026, at 09:00 WIB.
