East Java Governor Khofifah Oversees Opening of Integrated People’s School in Tuban

Governor of East Java Khofifah Indar Parawansa said PKH (Program Keluarga Harapan) field officers visit families up to ten times to persuade children who have dropped out of school to enroll at the new Sekolah Rakyat Terintegrasi (Integrated People’s School) in Tuban. The school, built through cooperation between the central government, the East Java provincial administration and Tuban local authorities, will admit students from Tuban, Pati and Bojonegoro, aiming to ensure no child is left behind in line with the Sustainable Development Goals.

Khofifah inspected the campus on 29 July 2026, confirming that classrooms, a canteen, a mosque, sports fields and monthly psychologist services are ready. The physical construction is slated to finish on 31 July 2026, with an open‑house and first intake of boarding students scheduled for 30 July 2026, marking a key step in expanding quality education for low‑income families in the region.
