East Java launches major student basketball and futsal competitions

Various student sports competitions have launched in East Java, Indonesia. The Honda DBL 2026 East Java – North began on August 6 at the DBL Arena in Surabaya and is scheduled to run until October 9, 2026.

The basketball competition features 139 teams from 94 schools across nine cities and regencies, including Surabaya, Sidoarjo, Gresik, Mojokerto, Jombang, Lamongan, Tuban, and Bangkalan. Organized by MPM Honda Jatim, PT Astra Honda Motor, and PT DBL Indonesia, the event includes various interactive activities such as riding tests, e-sports, and dance competitions.

Additionally, the Okezone National Championship 2026 regional Surabaya commenced at the Universitas Negeri Surabaya (Unesa) sports hall. This futsal competition involves 24 high schools from the Surabaya area. The tournament aims to scout young talent, with the top two teams from the Surabaya region advancing to a grand final in Jakarta alongside representatives from Jakarta, Yogyakarta, and Bandung.
