East Java Tax Authority and GP Ansor Sign MoU to Raise Tax Literacy for UMKMs

On 6 August 2026, the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) East Java and the regional leadership of the Gerakan Pemuda Ansor (GP Ansor) signed a cooperation agreement during the Ansor Economic Forum (AEF) 2026 in Surabaya. The MoU focuses on education and assistance for tax administration aimed at micro, small and medium enterprises (UMKM) and other businesses within the GP Ansor network.

DJP Director General Bimo Wijayanto said the partnership will expand tax literacy, help entrepreneurs understand rights and obligations, and encourage voluntary compliance, while noting that non‑compliant taxpayers will face enforcement under existing laws. The agreement also includes joint forums to discuss tax policy updates and support UMKM competitiveness.
