East London and Essex rail services face disruption

Late-night rail services across east London and Essex are facing disruptions due to planned engineering works. From September 1 to September 3, c2c services between Barking and Pitsea via the Laindon line will be diverted via Grays, meaning trains will not stop at Upminster, West Horndon, Laindon, or Basildon. Rail replacement buses will operate between Upminster and Pitsea via Laindon.

Additionally, services on the Ockendon line will be affected by works between Upminster and Grays. Trains via Tilbury will bypass Upminster, Ockendon, and Chafford Hundred, with replacement buses running between Upminster and Grays via Ockendon. Passengers may use District line tickets between Barking and Upminster at no extra cost.

Further disruption is scheduled for Sunday, September 6, due to works between Basildon and Leigh-on-Sea. On the Basildon line, trains will run between Fenchurch Street and Basildon, stopping at West Ham but not Stratford. Replacement buses will serve the Basildon to Shoeburyness route, while shuttle trains will operate between Leigh-on-Sea and Shoeburyness during peak hours.
