Cyprus commits to Greece electricity link as Europe marks Mobility Week

Several regional initiatives and infrastructure developments are underway across Europe. In Cyprus, President Nikos Christodoulides confirmed the country’s intention to pay an annual contribution of 25 million euros toward the electricity interconnection project with Greece. This payment is linked to the issuance of a Navtex to resume research and cable laying operations. Christodoulides emphasized that there is no friction between Nicosia and Athens regarding this project.

European Mobility Week is being observed from September 16 to 22 in various locations. In Ruse, Bulgaria, the municipality has organized a program focused on road safety, sustainable transport, and urban environment improvement, including activities for children and youth. Similarly, the Republic Council for Road Traffic Safety in North Macedonia is promoting sustainable habits such as walking, cycling, and using public transport to reduce pollution and traffic congestion.

In Greece, the Nursing Association of Greece is organizing the 5th Panhellenic Voluntary Bone Marrow Donation Action. In collaboration with hospitals like the Sismanogleio General Hospital in Komotini, the initiative aims to raise awareness and register new voluntary donors through a simple and painless oral swab process.
