East Mani flooding: Laconia authorities begin damage assessment

The Peloponnese Region, acting through the Laconia Regional Unit, has initiated the process of recording damages caused by severe flooding in the municipality of East Mani. The flooding event occurred on August 15, 2026.

Authorities are facilitating the process for state aid to assist affected businesses and non-profit organizations. Eligible entities include industrial and manufacturing units, commercial shops, health-related businesses, and tourist accommodations. Reported damages involve assets such as equipment, raw materials, goods, vehicles, and production means.

To facilitate the inspection by the State Aid Committee, affected parties are instructed to fully document all damages using photographs, videos, or other suitable media before beginning any repairs. Applications can be submitted in person at the Secretariat of the Development Directorate of the Laconia Regional Unit between 09:00 and 13:00, or sent via email.
