East Mani Mayor Petros Andreakos in critical condition after serious accident

Petros Andreakos, the Mayor of East Mani, is in critical condition following a serious accident at his residence in Areopoli on Sunday, October 11. Andreakos reportedly slipped on the stairs of his home, resulting in severe traumatic brain injuries.

After receiving initial aid at the Areopoli Health Center, he was transferred to the Sparta General Hospital. Due to the severity of his condition, he was intubated and subsequently moved to the Panarkadiko General Hospital in Tripoli, where he remains hospitalized in critical condition.

Andreakos has been a prominent figure in Laconia's local government since 1999. He served as the Mayor of Oitylo for three terms before being elected as the Mayor of East Mani in 2010 following administrative reforms.
