East Midlands Mayor moves to protect bus services after CT4N collapse

The Mayor of the East Midlands, Claire Ward, is working with local authorities to protect public transport services following the collapse of bus operator CT4N. The closure has disrupted routes across Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, and Derbyshire, impacting passengers' ability to access work, education, and healthcare.

The East Midlands Combined County Authority is collaborating with various operators to secure replacement services and minimize disruption. Some routes have already been transitioned to alternative providers. Notably, Nottingham City Transport (NCT) has agreed to operate the Number 18 service between Nottingham, Beeston, and Stapleford starting August 17, 2026.

In response to the operator's failure, the authority has also pledged to support displaced CT4N employees through regional employment and skills programs.
