East Texas prepares for weekend events and heavy rain

East Texas residents can expect various local events and significant rainfall this weekend. The East Texas State Fair in Tyler continues through Sunday, featuring a rodeo, livestock shows, nightly live music, and carnival rides. Additionally, the 51st annual Titus County Fair is being held in Mount Pleasant.

Weather forecasts indicate a high probability of rain across the region, with between one and four inches expected in some areas due to the remnants of Hurricane Polo moving across Mexico from the Pacific Ocean. Residents are advised to remain weather-aware and avoid crossing flooded roadways.
