East Trail Little League squad makes 1967 World Series appearance from British Columbia

In the summer of 1967 a group of young ballplayers from East Trail in Trail, British Columbia won the Canadian Little League championship by defeating Windsor, Ontario 5‑0 in Valleyfield, Quebec. The victory, witnessed by an estimated 5,000‑6,000 spectators, earned the team a place in the 21st Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Manager Al McAulay said, “The East Trail club had a lot of fan support here,” adding, “It really made the kids come to life and play better ball.” Pitcher Morley Levick held Windsor to one hit and eight strikeouts. At the World Series the East Trail team faced West Tokyo of Japan and lost narrowly, 1‑0, ending their run. West Tokyo went on to become the first non‑American team to win the Little League World Series, highlighting the historic achievement of the small Canadian club.

The 1967 appearance placed East Trail among the world’s finest Little League clubs and remains a celebrated moment in Canadian youth‑sports history.
