Collegiate athletics: Volleyball and soccer conference updates

Various collegiate athletic teams competed in recent conference openers and matches across volleyball and soccer.

In volleyball, Eastern Kentucky University secured a 3-1 victory over Central Arkansas in their United Athletic Conference opener, led by Emilee Hill’s fifth triple-double of the season. Austin Peay State University also won its UAC opener, defeating the University of Arkansas at Little Rock 3-1.

In women’s soccer, several matches ended in draws or narrow results. Campbell University played to a 1-1 draw against Hofstra, while Coastal Carolina University also recorded a 2-2 draw against South Alabama. Central Arkansas fell to Tarleton State in their UAC opener, despite a goal from Caroline Billings.
