Eastern Province Municipality expands green spaces in Dammam
The Eastern Province Municipality has significantly expanded green spaces in Dammam as part of efforts to improve the urban landscape and enhance environmental quality. Recent activities included the planting of over 32,000 diverse trees across central, western, and eastern locations, including vital sites such as the Emirate triangles and 11th Street.
Between 2025 and June 2026, the municipality completed the planting of approximately 2.09 million diverse trees. The organization aims to plant an additional 1.5 million trees throughout 2026. These initiatives align with the Saudi Green Initiative and the strategies of the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing.
Ongoing projects include the afforestation of major roads—such as Airport Road, Abu Hadriyah Road, and King Fahd bin Abdulaziz Road—as well as seed dispersal programs. Other initiatives focus on planting mangroves and afforesting campsites in Dammam and Al Nairyah to promote urban sustainability and quality of life.
