Eastern Railway focuses on women's empowerment and employee welfare

Eastern Railway (ER) marked Raksha Bandhan by hosting an interactive session focused on women's empowerment and employee welfare. General Manager Geetika Pandey led the event, encouraging female employees to share their professional experiences and suggestions to foster growth and workplace well-being.

During the event, ER recognized several high-achieving employees, including track cyclist Triasha Paul, who will represent India at the upcoming Asian Games in Japan, and medal-winning archers Sonia Thakur and Lakshmi Hembram.

To support staff, ER announced several new welfare initiatives, including 'Art of Living' sessions, wealth and health management programs for retiring employees, and specialized nutrition and wealth management advice for women. The organization is also implementing mental health support through dedicated counseling rooms and conducting workshops on sexual harassment awareness. Physical workplace upgrades are also underway, including improved ladies' tiffin rooms at Fairly Place and the identification of new facilities at the New Koyalghat building.
