Eastern Railway provides medical aid to Shravani Mela pilgrims
Eastern Railway (ER) medical teams are providing 24/7 assistance to pilgrims participating in the Shravani Mela pilgrimage to Baba Baidyanath Dham in Deoghar. As of August 17, nearly 20 lakh pilgrims have passed through ER stations to reach the site.
Medical staff at Jasidih and Deoghar stations are treating various health issues resulting from the arduous journey, including dehydration, physical exhaustion, and severe foot injuries caused by prolonged barefoot walking. Services include advanced wound care for friction blisters, administration of analgesics, and tetanus prophylaxis.
Additionally, medical units have provided emergency care for heat exhaustion and disorientation, utilizing Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS) and clinical observation to stabilize pilgrims before reuniting them with their families.
