Eastern Swiss lakes reach record low water levels

Lakes in eastern Switzerland have reached record low water levels following several months of drought. Data from various monitoring stations indicate historically low levels in the Untersee, which is the smallest part of Lake Constance (Bodensee), as well as in Lake Walensee.

In the canton of Thurgau, authorities are reporting historically low water levels and warn that the situation may worsen in the near future. Additionally, a monitoring station at Lake Cyrihu on the St. Gallen side has also recorded record low water levels.
